Windows says "Windows protected your PC" when I install. Is it safe?

Yes. Windows shows this for new apps it hasn’t seen on many computers yet. Click "More info", then "Run anyway".

On a Mac, if it says the app can’t be checked, open System Settings → Privacy & Security and click "Open Anyway".
